Help Us Reach $3,000; What I Do. . .

Salve Friends, Catholics, brothers and sisters in Christ,

We are a quarter of the way to attaining our goal of $3,000 recurring donations! Thank you to all of those that made the recurring and one-time donations, they are paying off bills that otherwise would have disrupted the publication of our work.

We still have over $2,000 to go in order to meet the minimum to continue our work.

Small and large donations, especially recurring donations, go a long way in sustaining all of our operations, Big Pulpit, The American Catholic, Catholic Stand, Ignitum Today, and FŒDVS.

Prior to launching Little Vatican, I was implementing Warehouse Management Systems with large organizations across this great country of ours. It required 100% travel, and I was paid well.

When I met my wife Lili, I made the conscious decision of leaving a six-figure contract to work full time evangelizing the faith so I can remain at home and spend my marital bliss with Lili the rest of my life. I was unable to both keep my warehousing career and evangelize our faith simultaneously.

My love of our faith is what drives me, to serve others. I do many other Catholic activities outside of Little Vatican, that for pious reasons, I do not want to share. But Little Vatican pays the bills, and within Little Vatican, I also do contract work for other organizations, such as EWTN, Catholics for Catholics, Guadalupe Radio Network, etc., that supplements my income (along with advertisers and sponsors).

It is most of the other contract work that has ended as I am preparing to launch a new non-profit organization that deals with Catholic education. I will need this extra time to be able to implement this new non-profit. So I am leaning more on Little Vatican to fill that income gap.

If you have been blessed with abundance, consider making a large recurring donation to Little Vatican.

Every one to whom much is given, of him will much be required;
— Luke 12:48(II) (RSVCE)

There are other initiatives that need funding, so your donations not only will stabilize our current websites, it will also contribute to the upgrade of some of our operations (FŒDVS) and expand our services (relaunching a brand new CHRONICA), among the many other initiatives.

So please consider donating $5, $10, $30, $100, or more per month. We have over a 100 volunteers that write for our various websites that would appreciate better online working environments and an expansion of our reach that would benefit more Catholics and non-Catholics on their journey to reaching Heaven!

Click on the link below this line to make your donation now:

Thank you for your patronage and know that my wife and I pray for each and every one of you each evening.

Archbishop Gustavo Explains His Controversial Abortion Tweet

Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller of San Antonio created a commotion on the social media platform X, formerly known at Twitter.  His Excellency posted a confusing tweet regarding abortion. Almost implying  that abortion is an option for Catholics, which it isn’t.

The Pillar Explains

The Pillar wrote the following in a post titled, ‘Archbishop says what? Texas diocese responds after episcopal Twitter controversy’:

Garcia-Siller attracted attention Nov. 5 for a tweet that caused confusion among some readers, as it seemed to them to offer a controversial opinion on the legal regulation of abortion:

“Think about this thought,” the archbishop tweeted.

“If I am going to have a child, I don’t want the government have any say on it. It is a gift from God. I want to hear God’s voice and dialogue with my spouse to make a decision according to God. Many dialogues have to take place.”

The tweet prompted questions from Catholics online, some of whom argued that the archbishop’s sentiment seemed to echo the rhetoric of advocates for abortion protections.

But the archbishop’s spokesman said Monday that interpretation was not accurate.

“Archbishop Gustavo is disappointed that some have used this Tweet to question his position on pro-life issues, in which he is so clearly aligned with the Catholic Church for the promotion of all human life from the moment of conception to natural death,” Jordan McMorrough, communications director in the San Antonio archdiocese, told The Pillar. . . Archbishop Gustavo, through his spokesman, attempted to clear up the chaos surrounding his tweet.  Some still question the prudence of the tweet regarding the hot topic of abortion.

A Clear Explanation on Abortion

Fr. William Saunders wrote a post titled, The Catholic Church and Abortion, on the Arlington Catholic Herald:

The Roman Catholic Church has consistently condemned abortion — the direct and purposeful taking of the life of the unborn child. In principle, Catholic Christians believe that all life is sacred from conception until natural death, and the taking of innocent human life, whether born or unborn, is morally wrong. The Church teaches, “Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains for ever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstance claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being” (“Donum vitae,” 5).  . . click here to read the rest of this post.

Saint Xavier’s: From the Waterfront Priest to the Dancing Priest

. . .there exists no sharper illustration of present-day enfeeblement of the Jesuit temper than the difference between the ministries of John Corridan, S.J., the “waterfront priest” of the 1940s, & today’s Robert VerEecke, S.J., the “dancing priest.”  Fr. Corridan earned a significant place in labor history. Fr.  VerEecke earned removal from the Church of St. Francis Xavier for making sexual overtures to a male parishioner. . .
